PROJECT LITERACY: REWRITING BOOKS TO REWRITE LIVES

 

Just because someone is illiterate doesn’t mean they can’t create stories. We found a woman who used to make up tales for her children set to familiar storybook pictures. And once she learned to read and write, we asked her to do something incredible – retell a classic fairytale, just like she used to. But this time, she was able to write it down. And then we shared that story with the world.
